Easter has not started off how I intended! I had plans to do the right thing and take the little guy to Easter Mass, I think it's important he learns why we have Easter (and Christmas) and that it's not all about the chocolate and presents. - FAILED!
I had intended to get up early and prepare hot cross buns for breakfast - FAIlED!
I had intended to get up early and get the easter egg hunt ready for him - FAIlED! (Hubby did it thankfully!).
The school holiday/easter break has meant short staff at work and given I can never say no, I picked up extra shifts, so after doing 4 shifts already this week (with one more to go today!) and having the little guy sick and not sleeping, I'm exhausted and had no energy for anything this morning. Again, forever thankful I have a wonderful husband who picks up the slack without asking!
So I will make the most of the 3 hours I now have with them before I go to work! After watching the excited egg hunt, through lots of coughing and nose wipes, and hearing him repeat how lucky he was the easter bunny brought him so many little eggs to cheer him up, and while I only get a short time at home with him today, I will make up for it in abundance the next 2 days before he goes back to school!
